THE LIVING ROOM
In December of 2015, Friendship Baptist Church sent Code and Anna out to plant a church in the downtown area of Ocala. That same month, Midtown Baptist Temple also gave their blessing as they saw the call on those wanting to plant a church. The small team began meeting the following month (January 2016) in the Blaise's living room with 12 adults and 7 kids.
THE BALLROOM
We quickly outgrew the house and it was time to find another location. God allowed us to meet downtown in the ballroom of the old Marion Hotel.
As we continued to see growth, God saw fit it was time to transition from a church plant to a local church. Downtown Baptist Temple was born November 2016.
THE SHOWROOM
We outgrew "the ballroom" and it was time to move to a more permanent place. Through some prayer, a place just a few blocks away opened up that used to be an old car dealership showroom. It was perfect for us. We moved in on a three year lease and continued to see God grow us. However, almost 3 years in the "showroom" God was moving in our hearts to find a home. Oh how God provided!
WHERE WE ARE NOW!
God supernaturally allowed us to have this building built in 1935. We would love to tell you the story of the many blessings from brothers and sisters all over this country that helped us purchase this property and helped with the renovations on 1st Street! Come and see all that God is doing.
